Members of the Carbon County Fire Police Association received lifetime memberships to the organization during the unit’s first annual 20-year banquet held at Trainer’s Inn, Lehighton R.4.

The lifetime membership is awarded to fire police members who have served the organization for 20 consecutive years.

Recipients included Ronald W. Andreas, Julius G. Fabian, Joseph Korpics, William Swanger and John Sulik, all of Palmerton; George P. Hinkle, Nevin Hontz, Alvin Schnell, Harry Wert, James M. Wagner and Allen E. Henry, all of Lehighton; Kenneth Ocker, Jim Thorpe; Murrell Brown, Parryville; and James Lakata, Hauto.

The awards were presented by Wert, president of the association, who was assisted by Andreas, treasurer of the unit.
