A contractor will begin resurfacing work today on Lafayette Street, Hegarty Avenue and Glenwood Avenue in Tamaqua.

The work is expected to last a few days. The roads will be completely closed so residents and commuters are advised to avoid the areas.

Roadwork will be at the following locations: Lafayette Street from Hegarty Avenue to Trinity’s west parking lot entrance; Hegarty Avenue from Lafayette to Nescopec; Glenwood Avenue from Market to Elizabeth; and Glenwood Avenue from Columbia to Clark.

Road closures will be at the following intersections: Pitt and Lafayette; Clay and Washington; Hegarty and Nescopec; Glenwood at Market and Elizabeth; and Glenwood at Columbia and Clark.
