October 22, 2004 — Jason Figura carries nine times for 220 yards and three touchdowns to help power Jim Thorpe to a 42-7 victory over Schuylkill Haven. The win clinches the Anthracite 8 championship for the Olympians, coached by Mark Rosenberger. Figura reaches the end zone on first-half runs of 52 and 62 yards, and adds a 27-yard tally in the second half. The winners also receive a pair of scores from Justin Young on runs of 41 and two yards. Thorpe’s other TD comes on a 17-yard pass from Dan Flizack to Craig Zurn. Figura adds an interception on defense, while Shawn Bradley records a pair of sacks.
