Northern Lehigh School District has approved a contract for an interim principal to serve at its secondary buildings until the new assistant principal begins next month.
On a unanimous vote, the school board last week approved a contract with the Pennsylvania Principals Association for an interim principal on an “as-needed” basis at a cost of $510 per day.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link said the interim principal, James Brown, began Oct. 9 and has been working in the middle school and high school.
Earlier in the meeting, the school board amended the effective start date for the administrative transfer motion approved at the Sept. 8 school board meeting, for Daniel Williams from secondary assistant principal, to middle school principal, $115,000 (prorated for the 2025-26 school year), effective Oct. 13.
Williams had been secondary assistant principal, and was appointed middle school principal after the school board accepted the resignation of former middle school Principal David Hauser, effective Oct. 10.
Hauser resigned to take a job as principal at Saucon Valley Middle School.
Nicole Del Gotto was appointed secondary assistant principal at a salary of $95,000, prorated for the 2025-26 school year.
She currently serves as principal at Danville Area School District.
“Link said the interim principal will bridge the gap between Williams and Del Gotto.
“This provide stability amongst the two buildings during the transition period so the buildings are not down administrative support for a month.”
