Nesquehoning church holds donation event

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Nesquehoning is hoping to help Ukrainian people suffering because of the war stay warm this winter.

The church is holding a winter apparel drive for those living in Ukraine.

“The drive is being done as a goodwill gesture in appreciation of the help we have received from Father Oleg Kravchenko,” the church posted on its Facebook page.

Until Nov. 9, people can drop off new children’s and adults’ winter apparel, including hats, gloves, mittens and scarves. Links for suggested apparel for the drive can be found on the church’s Facebook page.

Donations can be brought to the church vestibule during Divine Liturgy on weekends.

If you want to participate, but can’t make it to the church, send donations to 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240.

Once the collection ends, all donations will be shipped to Ukraine ahead of the winter season.
