State police at the Pocono barracks reported a hit-and run crash occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The crash was at 2:21 p.m. on Sept. 25 at mile marker 72.1 in East Penn Township.

Police said that Richard J. Shanks, 22, of Perkasie, reported he was southbound in a 2025 Toyota 4Runner when a tractor-trailer traveling in the right lane changed lanes, causing the collision.

The rig continued south without stopping after the crash

Shanks was uninjured and able to drive his vehicle from the scene.

Police said the tractor-trailer had the name Rist Transport (out of Allentown) on it.
