Local roundup: Results from Oct. 1

Northwestern’s Rosilia Nestor, Palmerton’s Connor Hibell and Weatherly’s Alexia Kehler all claimed individual victories Wednesday, while Tamaqua swept both the boys and girls meets in Schuylkill League action.

Rosilia Nestor of Northwestern and Connor Hibell of Palmerton claimed individual victories in a Colonial League meet.

Nestor won the girls race in 20:36.10, while Hibell captured the boys meet in 17:03.40.

Emma Heil of Northern Lehigh, Logan Gillespie of Jim Thorpe, Payten Fornaro of Palmerton and Claudia Pagotto of Lehighton rounded out the girls top five.

On the boys side, Elijah Pagotto of Lehighton placed third, while Noah Griffith of Northwestern was fifth. Teammates Brady Furman, Michael Richards and Isaac Grubb finished seventh, eighth and 10th.

Ezra Green paced Palmerton with a 12th-place finish, while Northern Lehigh’s Edward Benedict was 18th. Lehighton’s Quinn Heimbach finished 20th.

Tamaqua swept in Schuylkill League action at Minersville.

The Blue Raiders boys earned wins over Minersville (21-38) and North Schuylkill (24-31). The girls topped Minersville 27-30 and North Schuylkill 15-50.

Aidan Elston (18:02) and Parker Steenken (18:27) finished 1-2 in the boys race.

Shaylee Gormley led the girls with a third-place finish (22:06), while Ava Jones placed fifth.
