The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance’s annual Bringing the World to Northeastern Pennsylvania event was a tremendous success. On Sept. 18, 20 local businesses met one on one with 13 of Pennsylvania’s Authorized Trade Representatives from around the globe at The Venue/Culinary Creations by Metz in Dupont.
Representatives joined from Australia, Canada, Central and Eastern Europe, China, Germany, India, the Middle East, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. These ATRs are private, in-market consultants contracted by the state to help Pennsylvania businesses export — at no cost.
The event provided local companies with direct access to Pennsylvania’s Export Network and the international business services available via NEPA Alliance and the commonwealth. Attendees gained market insights, addressed company-specific challenges and explored opportunities to grow their global presence.
Through the Export Network, the alliance offers hands-on support to businesses at every stage of exporting, from first-time exporters to experienced international companies. In partnership with BusinessPA International within the state Department of Community and Economic Development, NEPA Alliance administers a range of export promotion programs designed to help regional businesses succeed in markets worldwide.
NEPA Alliance, a regional community and economic development agency, serves the seven counties of Northeastern Pennsylvania: Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne. NEPA Alliance services include federal and state grant assistance, business financing, government contracting assistance, international trade assistance, nonprofit assistance, transportation planning, and research and information.
