Local Roundup: Results from Sept. 23

Panther Valley and Marian both posted wins in volleyball action on Tuesday.

The Panthers remained undefeated by downing Mahanoy Area, while the Fillies swept past Nativity.

VOLLEYBALL

Mahanoy Area-Panther Vy.

Panther Valley continues its dominance with a 3-0 Schuylkill League sweep over Mahanoy Area to remain undefeated on the season.

Morgan Orsulak had another impressive outing for the Panthers with 27 kills and seven assists, while Jaelynn Browdy did most of the playmaking with 26 assists. She also added 12 digs.

Marian cruised to a sweep of Nativity in Schuylkill League action.

The Fillies received balanced results from a number of players, including Alena Lombardo with eight kills, Eris Hayes with 14 assists and 12 digs, Isabella Horvat with seven kills and nine digs, and Kali Grochowski with five kills and 11 digs.

Northampton extended its winning streak to five games, as the Konkrete Kids shut out Pleasant Valley 7-0 in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.

Maddy Williamson sparked the winners with a hat trick and two assists, while Lauren Resnik chipped in with two goals.

PV goalie Emi Stipeck finished with 29 saves.

The Bears will look to rebound on Thursday, as they host Pocono Mountain West.

Keeley Lawrence paced the Bears with a top-10 finish, placing ninth. PV’s Rebekah McLeod finished 27th out of a field of 56 runners.
