Northern Lehigh School Board — curriculum
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following curriculum and instruction matters recently:
• The two-year renewal of Renaissance Fundamentals at a cost of $21,972, to be funded from the assistant superintendent budget.
• Purchase of an additional Amplify CKLA third-grade teacher set for the new emotional support classroom at Slatington Elementary School at a cost not to exceed $5,000, to be funded through the district’s director of educational technology/curriculum and instruction budget.
• Renewed the ORI Learning System service contact for special needs students for the 2025-26 school year at a cost of $1,865.
• Enter into an agreement with PowerSchool for professional development training in Special Programs for $965, to be funded through the district’s director of special education budget.
• Purchase of an additional 140 licenses of Canvas LMS through Instructure at a cost of $732 for the 2025-26 school year to be funded through the district’s curriculum and instruction budget.
• Renewed the Everyday Speech contract for special needs students for the 2025-26 school year at a cost of $500, to be funded through the district’s special education budget.
• Superintendent Matthew Link and middle school principal to execute a letter of agreement for the 2025-26 academic year with the Center for Humanistic Change Inc. to provide student assistance program liaison services. The Student Assistance teams in the district will use these services.
• The Memorandum of Understanding with Valley Youth house for the Bounce Back program at Peters Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year.
• Matt Davis as helping teacher for inductee Andrea Potylycki, initial year, $200; Brittany Warner as helping teacher for inductee Rachel DeMicco, year one of two, $400; Sidney Snyder as helping teacher for inductee Rachel DeMicco, year one of two, $400; Jennifer Madtes as helping teacher for inductee Colleen Day, initial year, $200; Michael Smith as helping teacher for inductee Morgan Kemmerer, year one of two, $800; Allison Chruscial as helping teacher for inductee Kayla Diehl, short-term sub, $800; Marshelle George as helping teacher for inductee Aimee Hegedus, initial year, $200; and Sarah Kunkel as helping teacher for inductee Bart Fanta, year one of two, $800.
• Enter into an agreement between the district and Lehigh Learning Academy for the purpose of furnishing regular or special education programs for the students for the 2025-26 school year.
• Letter of agreement for the 2025-26 school year with the Pennsylvania Principals Association to provide professional development sessions for the administrative team, with funding to be from the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.
