It was time to dust off the books, rekindle old friendships and make new acquaintances.
Students returned to the classrooms in the Northern Lehigh School District on Monday to embark on the start of the 2025-26 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link said he believes the school year got off to a solid start.
“Overall, I am happy with the first day of school,” Link said. “It was great to see our students back in the halls and classrooms, reconnecting with their friends and teachers.”
Aside from a few busing hitches here and there, Link quantified the start of the school year as being a huge success.
“We also welcomed many new students for the first time, and I was pleased with how they were quickly included with the opening day activities,” he said. “Busing went well with only a few glitches that I suspect most will be resolved by today, and timing for pickups and drop-offs will quickly settle into the established times.”
