Two people were injured Tuesday night in a crash in Towamensing Township. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. along Route 209 near the intersection with Homestead Lane involving a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle. Two people on the bike were injured. Both victims were treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. Responding were the Towamensing and Franklin township fire companies who maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
