Slatington resident Kris Burek attended the meeting to thank council for the $5,000 donation for the Senior Center of Slatington.
Burek would like to see the borough office open until 6:30 p.m. on the three Mondays a month that Council has meetings.
She said, “Residents work. They have a hard time to make it during the day when the office is open, 8 a.m. to 4:30.”
Burek also asked Council to look at the water and sewer billing.
“The water minimum is 8,000 gallons at $93 a quarter for single homes. A 4-unit apartment building uses like 24,000 gallons and is charged the minimum of 8,000 gallons. This is not fair.”
She asked Council to look at ordinance 455 and 456.
