The Lehigh Township Board of Supervisors will expand their search for a new zoning officer.
The board reported Tuesday that the three applicants that they interviewed were not what they needed.
The job of the zoning officer is being done by Manager Alice Rehrig, former zoning officer Liz Amato (just helping out) and Mike Muffley from Hanover Engineering.
In other business:
• The supervisors approved an extension of time to Top of the Mountain Estates until Oct. 30.
• The recreation board reported there is not enough time to have residents purchase trees for the Christmas tree lighting.
The board said park gates are needed at the ball field in Berlinsville. More quotes are needed.
• To date, 380 Hometown Heroes banners have been put up in the township. There is a fourth order going in from the Lions Club.
• Acting Officer in Charge, Sgt. John Henry, reported 486 calls for July, and 15 were arrests. Seven interviews are scheduled for new officers and the department is working on Grant for Cops.
• Assistant Fire Chief Brian Krische reported that the brush fire is finally out on Cherryville Road. The fire had been burning for several months.
• Rehrig reported that the new maintenance building is paid off.
• The Capital Improvements Plan and Budget was tabled, which will be a 3- to 5-year budget for the township.
