Nesquehoning police investigate dog bite

Nesquehoning Police are investigating a dog bite incident that occurred in the unit block of West Center Street Sunday.

At 7:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person being bitten by a dog in the area.

Officers said the victim had sustained injuries consistent with a dog bite. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and the victim was taken by ambulance to St Luke’s Coaldale.

The dog has been identified and secured and the owner is cooperating fully with the investigation.

Nesquehoning Police are working in conjunction with local animal control authorities to ensure all protocols regarding the animal’s vaccination status and containment are followed.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. No charges have been filed, but the department is reviewing the incident for any potential violations of local or state animal control ordinances.
