Kidder Township conducted the following business last week:
• Beth Hurley, from the organization Love Kidder Township, spoke about two new bills that would affect the township.
House Bill 502 proposes creation of a statewide Reliable Energy Siting and Electric Transition Board, which would be given full and centralized authority over approving energy permits.
Senate Bill 939 would establish an office of transformation for statewide permitting centralization of data centers.
• A letter of credit in the amount of $936,831.78 was approved for the PNK P5 LLC warehouse on Route 940.
• Camp issues at Mount Laurel Resort was added to the agenda. As there were issues with the inspection a “Hold and Harmless Agreement ” was approved, meaning the township will not be held responsible for minor issues and cannot be sued.
• Caitlin Levine was appointed as a new clerk. at $18 an hour.
• The police department reported 245 calls for June and issued 81 traffic tickets.
• Noel Torres, police chairperson, said a gun was fired at a family reunion at a short-term rental on Sky Drive.
Kidder police determined it was accidental. No other information was released.
