An Albrightsville woman has been charged with burglarizing a home in Penn Forest Township.
According to an affidavit filed by Trooper Nicholas Ferra of the Pennsylvania State Police at the Lehighton barracks, Ashley Self, 32, was found near the scene of the reported break-in.
Police were called at 1:12 p.m. July 21 for a burglary at a home on Coyote Drive. When Ferra arrived at 1:27 p.m., he found the front door ajar and several items on the deck, including three women’s bras, a pink nail scrubber, seven bottles of nail polish, and a leopard print handbag.
While canvassing the area, Ferra encountered a woman who identified herself as Self.
She told him she had been at the property around 1 p.m. on July 18 and had left some of her belongings there.
Ferra brought Self back to the residence, where she confirmed the items found outside were hers.
When asked if she had entered the home, she admitted she had — through an unlocked window on the deck.
Self was taken into custody and is charged with burglary and criminal trespass. She remains in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 straight bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz in Jim Thorpe.
