Tamaqua Area School Board

Tamaqua Area School Board on Tuesday handled a number of personnel items, including hiring four teachers.

Among the teacher hires were: Megan Rosahac of Jim Thorpe, and Sarah Jacobs, Mountain Top, both elementary; and Stew Caladie of Mountain Top, and Makayla Harvey of Schnecksville, both middle school, all at a salary of $48,030.

Resignations included: Jessica Zeigler, a West Penn kindergarten teacher, effective, June 18; Linda Travis, Tamaqua elementary fifth-grade teacher effective end of school year, Norina Rex, part-time paraprofessional.

Other personnel moves included:

• Ratifying Kristen Klingaman as a 2025 summer school teacher at a stipend of $2,500.

• Rescinding the motion approving Rachael Maly as a full-time paraprofessional.

• Approving Megan Frantz, certified teacher, as mentor to Stew Caladie.

• Authorizing the superintendent to hire staff as needed.

• Rescind the motions approving Ruth Gardiner as drama club assistant No. 2, scenic director; and Taylor Starr as middle school eighth-grade class co-adviser and Aevidum co-adviser.

• Approved Emily Barrett, as Drama Club assistant No. 2, scenic director; and Megan Berezwick, middle school eighth-grade class co-adviser.

• Approved Drama Club volunteers as follows: Nathan Johns, Chris Kerestus, Kylie Lehatto, Caitlin Miller, Kipp Tonkin, all of Tamaqua, and Michael Graham and Brian Nallon of New Ringgold.

• Approved the game worker and event security list.
