Lehighton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Accepted bids of $9,500 from Lehighton Area School District for patrol car No. 5; and $6,000 for the Elgin Crosswind sweeper.

• Accepted a bid for $6,990 to repair the police department garage ceiling.

• Adopted amendments to the borough zoning ordinance.

• Agreed to remove the borough mechanic from the Collective Bargaining Agreement probationary period.

• Agreed to list parcel 83B-38-A86A along Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Blvd. for public sale.

• Approved participation in safety training with AMP — Ohio.
