Tamaqua church to host gospel singer Aug. 3
Musician Jeremy Goodling will perform at 6 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the Summer Celebration, hosted by Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua.
Goodling has been traveling and singing at churches and events throughout Pennsylvania for over 34 years, sharing the good news through a ministry of music.
He sings a variety of Christian music including Southern gospel, light contemporary, hymns and praise and worship. The songs he sings are full of hope and encouragement, and he often shares how the songs apply to his life and walk with the Lord.
Folks have commented on Goodling’s wide vocal range with the ability to sing both lead and low range songs. If a piano is available, he enjoys playing his own accompaniment for part of the concerts and on occasion plays the drums when his daughters sing at their home church and select concerts.
He was invited to perform at Summer Celebration, an annual event hosted by the Tamaqua Ministerial Association and the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network (TAFFN).
In the past, Summer Celebration has hosted the Praise Band from Blue Mountain Community Church in Palmerton and Sing for America of Bethlehem.
The first Summer Celebration was held in 2013 at the Tamaqua Train Station and featured local musicians and speakers.
Goodling and his wife, Tabitha, and four daughters reside in McAlisterville in Juniata County. They are active members of Niemonds Independent Church based in Richfield.
More information about Goodling’s ministry is available at www.jeremygoodling.com.
A time of food and fellowship follows Goodling’s presentation. Tamaqua area congregations have been invited to donate food and beverage items for the gathering.
TAFFN is an informal organization of lay leaders from Tamaqua area congregations. The Tamaqua Ministerial Association meets monthly and invites all area clergy to share fellowship, information and support.
