Lower Towamensing Township supervisors took the following action last week:
• Accepted a check from Chris Storm, district manager, Carbon County Conservation District, for the remaining balance of a grant for Spruce Road in the amount of $70,663. The full award of the grant was $141,325, for which the township received half of the funding up front for materials. Storm noted that the township put forward in-kind labor and equipment costs toward the project, which was on Spruce Road from the paved section of Spruce Road to 57 Road.
• Granted a waiver request for CBI Land Development preliminary/final plan approval; granted conditional plan approval for the CBI Land Development; and approved the highway occupancy permit for State Route 2002.
• Approved an application for a septic permit for the Stoney Ridge PARC.
• Agreed to advertise for line painting for all of the roads within the township.
• Road foreman Robin Cressley praised Lee Costenbader, of Costenbader Excavating, for spreading the infield mix at the ball field at no charge.
