A man struck while riding his bicycle has died from his injuries after a crash Friday morning in Lehigh County.
The Upper Macungie Township Police Department responded at 11:18 a.m. to the area of Cetronia Road in the area of Schantz Road involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle.
Both units were traveling south on Cetronia Road approaching Schantz Road when the two came into contact with each other.
The operator of the bicycle, a 76-year-old man from Breinigsville, who was wearing his helmet, sustained serious injuries as a result and was later declared deceased at the hospital.
The driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, a 52-year-old man from Northampton, who was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured.
Also assisting at the scene were the Upper Macungie Township Bureau of Fire, and Cetronia EMS.
This collision is under investigation by the Upper Macungie Township Police Department along with the Lehigh County Crash Reconstruction Task Force.
