Traffic backups took place Sunday afternoon as holiday vacations came to an end. Here, southbound traffic is backed up on Route 309 in Hometown, extending all the way down the Hometown Hill and into Tamaqua. At the same time, bumper-to-bumper traffic was reported southbound on the turnpike as many campers and vacationers from the Philadelphia area made their way home after a weekend in the Poconos and points north.
