Polk residents complain about noise from kennel
Polk Township Board of Supervisors last week heard complaints about noise from a nearby kennel.
Jim and Julia Saeger asked to be added to the agenda.
They lived in their house for 40 years, next to Trifecta Kennels.
A few years ago a new owner took over the kennels, and since then the Saegers claim there is constant barking, night and day, making it difficult to sleep or enjoy their retirement.
The Saegers told supervisors they have purchased insulation and provided it to the kennel owner, as initially he was responsive to them.
After needing to call the state police and Monroe County dog warden, the Saegers were advised that the issue is a township situation.
A township complaint form was filed and they were contacted by the zoning officer, who advised them to bring the issue to a township meeting. The kennel predates zoning ordinances.
Township solicitor James Fareri said he would “look into the ordinance and more importantly (advised) go see a lawyer.”
