A Saylorsburg woman has been charged with striking another woman with a hammer during a fight in Chestnuthill Township.
Court papers say Pennsylvania State Police, Fern Ridge charged Susan Ratti with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.:
At 8:03 p.m. Friday, state police were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Effort Neola Road for a disturbance.
The victim said that she and Ratti, 47, who were roommates, had an argument that turned physical about the woman staying at the residence.
The woman said that she was struck by a hammer in the left eye. EMS at the scene said she had a possible broken orbital socket.
Ratti is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Prison in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on July 3 before District Judge Daniel Kresge of Bartonsville.
