Owen Moyer helped Franklin Township earn a walk-off win for the second straight game Friday in Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack play, while Xavier Ahner powered Palmerton’s explosive offense in an impressive victory.

Owen Moyer delivered the walk-off blow in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting Franklin Township to a thrilling 9-8 comeback win over Panthers Red.
Moyer’s two-out, two-run single capped a five-run seventh inning for Franklin Township, which trailed 8-3 entering the bottom of the fifth. The second baseman drove in four runs overall.
Jake Albert — who scored the winning run — earned the win in relief, tossing 3 1/3 innings and allowing two runs on five hits with one strikeout and two walks. Alex Kish started for Franklin and struck out eight over 3 2/3 innings, giving up six runs — only one of which was earned.
Garrett Utrata, Korbin Ahner and Kish each had two hits for Franklin, while Albert (walk, two runs scored) and Carter Spotts (three walks, run scored) each had one hit for the winners, who drew 10 walks. Albert also swiped three bags.
Leadoff hitter Marc Farro led Panthers Red with three hits, three runs, and three stolen bases. Blake Riggins had a double and two RBIs, while Bo Magargal, who started on the mound, also added a hit and three stolen bases.

Palmerton-Nazareth
Xavier Ahner had a breakout game, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs to lead Palmerton to an 11-8 win over Nazareth. Ahner doubled twice and scored twice as part of a 17-hit attack.
Palmerton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, with Ahner’s two-run double and Brody Mertz’s RBI single providing the early spark. Ahner added run-scoring hits in the fourth and sixth innings.
Robbie George started for Palmerton, allowing one unearned run on one hit over 2 1/3 innings. Zach Zelinsky was strong in relief, and Cade Serfass pitched the final 3 2/3 innings, striking out three and allowing two earned runs.
George helped his cause at the plate with three hits and two RBIs. Mertz, Landon Eckhart, Colton Labukas, Brady Ivancich, and George all had multiple hits for Palmerton, which also stole six bases.
Nazareth was led by Angelo D’Andrea, who went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Elliot Jemiolo added a hit and a run scored, and Alex Karba walked three times and stole five bases.

Northern Valley-
Freemansburg
Northern Valley couldn’t cash in on a 12-hit performance, falling 6-5 to Freemansburg.
Tanner Fronina paced the Chargers offensively, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Henry Fitzgerald, Mason Cudzil and Benjamin Storch each added two hits. Jakob Hausman also drove in a run.
Freemansburg scored twice in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good. Liam Walczak and Shane Coleman each drove in runs to break a 5-4 deficit.
Nathan Kinney started on the mound for Northern Valley and took the loss. He pitched three innings, allowing six runs on six hits while striking out three and walking four. Fronina worked three scoreless innings in relief, striking out two and walking none.
Dane Brotzman earned the win for Freemansburg, giving up five runs on eight hits in four innings. Gabe Kret tossed three scoreless innings to record the save.

Northern Vy.-N. Parkland
Despite collecting eight hits to just five for North Parkland, Northern Valley came up short in a 7-3 loss.
Aidan Freeman and Brayden Buskirk each had two hits for Northern Valley. Buskirk and Nolan Fitzgerald both drove in runs, while Gavin Unrath also scored and tossed 1 2/3 innings of relief, allowing just one unearned run.
Christopher Vargas took the loss after allowing four hits and six runs (one earned) over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked three.
North Parkland capitalized on early opportunities, scoring four runs in the first. Steven Sepko and Tsubasa Magota each drove in two runs, while Andrew Beers finished 2-for-3 with a triple, two stolen bases, and three runs scored.
Noah Trager earned the win for North Parkland, limiting Northern Valley to one run on six hits over six innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
