The Bowmanstown-Parryville Lions Club held its 49th annual Charter Observance recently at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company Hall.

Lion Lyle Augustine Jr. welcomed all in attendance and introduced Past District Gov. Lisa Leon and several honored guests.

The 2025 Scholastic Achievement Award recipients were announced as follows: Madelyn Bennyhoff, Palmerton Area High School; Natalie Blair, Lehighton Area High School; and Kian Bowman, Carbon Career & Technical Institute (Lehighton — Engineering Technology) and Owen Rakos (Palmerton, Electrical Distribution & Automation).

Each recipient received a plaque and a $600 award.

Lehighton Ambulance Association and Palmerton Community Ambulance Association were also presented a $600 check.

It was noted the funds represent the proceeds from the Basket Raffle held at the club’s April Block Shoot.

• Memorial Bible Presentation: Donna Beers (in memory of her husband, Lion Richard C. Beers).

Past President Lyle Augustine Jr. presented a plaque and a Past-President Lions Pin to outgoing President Scott L. Fenstermaker Sr. in recognition of his service as the 2024-25 club president.

• New member induction: Past District Gov. Lisa Leon performed the “New Member Induction” Ceremony and welcomed Jennifer M. Schlegel into Lionism and the Club. Also recognized as her sponsor was Lion Brianna N. Kroboth.
