Tamaqua School Board
The Tamaqua Area School Board on Tuesday approved:
• The Tamaqua Area Booster Board to apply for a Small Games of Chance License for 2025-26.
• Pay to play rates as follows: one sport, $40, or $30 with donation; second sport, $30, or $20 with donation; and third sport, $20, or $10 with donation.
• Early dismissal for both elementary schools Nov. 5, 6 and 7 for parent/teacher conferences.
• Agreements with Child and Family Support Services Inc. of Reading for the Student Assistance Program, and the Elementary Student Assistance Program.
• Agreement with Child and Family Support Services Inc. to connect with service providers when the psychiatric outpatient clinic serves children, and linkages with appropriate educational and social service agencies shall be maintained.
• The revised 2025-26 Title IIA Non-Pubic Programs and Services Letter of Agreement with the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit, beginning Sept. 1, 2024, until the 2024-25 funds are expended.
• The tax report and exemptions, tax refunds and payment of bills totaling $1,331,316.95, and interim bills of $110,697.73.
Ratification of a repository sale on Claremont Avenue at a purchase price of $2,425.
• The 2025-26 blanket budget transfer.
• Authorization of business manager to select the district’s insurance package, lowest cost option for current program.
• Mauch Chunk Trust as the district’s depository and M&T Bank as depository for the district’s tax account for the fiscal year 2025-26.
• The 2025-26 Health and Welfare composite, self-pay and COBRA rates, effective July 1, including adjustments to the out of pocket maximums set by the Affordable Care Act.
• Larry Wittig, board president, as a replacement for Trina Schellhammer as the STC representative.
