Carbon County’s retirement board and commissioners took action to begin the termination process of the retirement board’s actuary.
Last week, the commissioners authorized the solicitor to provide 60-day written notice of the termination to Korn Ferry Hay Group Inc. of Philadelphia. Carbon County’s retirement fund has been with the actuary for approximately a decade.
The board of commissioners then approved an agreement for actuarial services for the county’s employee retirement system with Foster & Foster Consulting Inc. for a one-year period beginning May 27 at a total cost of $29,400.
Controller Kayla Herman said after making the motion during last month’s retirement board meeting that the termination of the Korn Ferry Hay Group was due to “performance” but did not elaborate any further.
In other matters, the board of commissioners also accepted a letter of termination from RKL LLC of Lancaster notifying the county that it would not be renewing its contract for auditing services.
The commissioners then hired Baker Tilly of Pittston to conduct auditing services for 2023, 2024 and 2025, at a cost of $179,000 for the three years.
