Jim Thorpe’s Stephen Korte capped a dominant performance at the Keystone State Championships this year by capturing the 136-pound title in the boys 15-16 division. Korte went 5-0 during the tournament, outscoring his opponents by a combined 55-13 margin. He opened with a 9-3 decision over Owen Steger (Ridgway) before blanking Peyton Ferguson (Pine-Richland) 6-0 in the Round of 16. Korte recorded an 18-2 (2:14) technical fall in the quarterfinals against Christian Laughman (West Perry), then followed it up with a 13-5 major decision over Ethan Shirk (Mercersburg Academy) in the semifinals. In the finals, Korte again posted a 9-3 decision — this time over Chase Sparks (Connellsville) — to clinch the championship. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
