Weatherly police were dispatched Saturday to a residence on West Main Street for an out-of-control unwanted person.
Officers found Joshua E. Makoweic, 41, of Weatherly, in the street and under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance, police said.
While in the street, Makoweic was screaming obscene language at passing motorists and in the presence of small children in their yards, police said. Officers attempted to calm the man but were unsuccessful. He was taken into custody and transported to the Weatherly Police Station.
While in a holding cell, he began to remove his clothing, scream vulgar language at the officers, and punch and kick the holding cell door, police said.
Makoweic was charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and similar misconduct and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by the on-duty District Magistrate Beth Dodson, who set bail at $20,000 straight.
He was unable to post bail and was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 18.
