A Cards for Soldiers event will be held June 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Weatherly American Legion Post 360.

This is a project that sends cards to all bases around the world for our active military to use to communicate with their family and loved ones. Handmade card kits will be available to assemble for military personnel to use.

Commercial cards will also be available for anyone who is interested in singing cards for veterans residing in local VA medical facilities. These are sent for birthdays, Christmas, or just thanks or thinking of you.

Volunteers are welcomed to stay for as long or little as they like. Any time spent signing cards is appreciated by our veterans and you may put a smile on their face, said Judy Desrosiers, coordinator.
