State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 55-year-old Rush Township woman was swindled out of $5,810 after she received a phony text message on May 31.

State police at Frackville said the Grier City woman received a text claiming to be from the Chime Mobile Banking Company. The message asked if she had authorized several charges and hinted that her account was hacked, police said. The victim was advised to move her money from Chime to her Apple Wallet. After she did so, she realized she was scammed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Karaman at 570-874-5300.

• State police at Frackville said an 85-year-old Andreas woman was the victim of theft by fraud on May 7. Police are continuing their investigation.

• State police are investigating a report of terroristic threats involving a 42 year-old male victim in Kline Township. Police said the report was made at 9:02 p.m. on May 26.
