Panther Valley’s Summer Feeding Program begins Thursday with pickup locations in each of the community in the school district.

The program provides free food for all children under 18 in the district every Tuesday and Thursday. People will receive free breakfast items and lunches for the seven days a week with half the meals distributed on each day.

The pickup locations and times are: The Batter’s Box Grille in Summit Hill from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; the Panther Valley Stadium in Lansford from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.; the Coaldale Complex in Coaldale from 12:30 to 1 p.m.; and the Panther Valley Elementary School in Nesquehoning from 1:30 to 2 p.m.

There is also a drop-off at the Lansford Townhouses for residents there before noon.

Times may be initially delayed due to the road construction on Route 209 near the school complex, where the meals are prepared. People are asked to be patient.

The program will continue on Tuesdays and Thursday through the summer, ending on Aug. 17.
