Mauch Chunk tournament to aid emergency center
An area organization’s annual golf tournament will benefit the Carbon County Emergency Operations Training Center.
The Mauch Chunk Charity Foundation will host its 10th annual golf tournament at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville on June 28.
“The Carbon County Emergency Operations Training Center supports our first responders with critical training to ensure our communities are taken care of during our times of need,” the foundation posted on its Facebook page. “Now it’s our turn to return the favor.”
The tournament is a four-person scramble, with all golfers or teams teeing off at 9 a.m. Registration is still being accepted.
All golfers must have the registration paid in full by June 21.
On the day of the event, registration assignments begin inside the hall at Mountain Valley from 7-8:30 a.m., and golfers must be at their starting holes by 8:45 a.m.
Each golfer’s registration fee includes greens fee with cart, prize tickets, unlimited beverages on the course and lunch.
To sign up, mail in a form naming the golfers participating and a check made payable to Brian Hawk, trustee, Mauch Chunk Charity Foundation, 729 Lime St., Palmerton, PA 18071.
In addition to golfers, the foundation also has hole sponsor opportunities, and volunteers are needed to help on the day of the event.
