State police at Frackville
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police investigated a criminal mischief incident at 5:11 p.m. April 26 on a property on Bernhard Road, Rush Township. A 69-year-old man from Barnesville reported someone broke the back windows of a detached garage at his residence. The damage was estimated at $1,000, police said.
• A 62-year-old Barnesville woman was targeted in a theft by deception incident reported around 4 p.m. April 30.
She reported that in February she received a message on Facebook Messenger from an account claiming to be an FBI agent from the Department of Health, telling her she won a large sum of money. The woman said that over the course of three months she sent $1,000 to the account to access the supposed winnings.
• Police said a 50-year-old woman from Tobyhanna is the victim of a harassment by physical contact incident they were called to at the Walmart store, Plaza Drive, Rush Township, at 8:06 p.m. April 30.
They said a store manager and asset protection personnel were trailing a woman who they believed might be trying to shoplift when the woman confronted the manager, shoved her and left the scene.
• A 79-year-old Barnesville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 9:03 p.m. May 6.
He was stopped for Motor Vehicle Code violations in the 700 block of East Centre Street, Mahanoy City.
• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 3:31 p.m. May 10 at the intersection of Fireman’s and Morea roads, West Mahanoy Township.
A 24-year-old woman from Ashland reported someone removed the valve stem on a tire of her 2022 Subaru.
