Antique Automobile Club of America announces 2025 events

The Anthracite Region Antique Automobile Club of America has announced the 2025 dates for their summer benefit cruises as well as its 39th annual car show:

• Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the No. 9 Mine & Museum, 9 Dock St., Lansford. (Rain or Shine): Dash plaques for the first fifty cars; cruising music and door prizes.

Food and drinks available at the Old Fashioned Miners Picnic. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome. Flea market space available. Proceeds to benefit the Lansford No. 9 Mine. For more info, call Shawn Frederickson at 570-778-7905.

• June 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Leiby’s Ice Cream House, Tamaqua (rain date June 8): Dash plaques for the first 50 cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at Leiby’s. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome. Proceeds benefit McAdoo AMVETS Post 1. For more info call Mike Havrilla at 570-436-5050.

• June 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Tri County Little League Field, McAdoo Pa. (rain or shine). Come celebrate the Southside Summer Festival which runs from noon to 7 p.m. Entertainment provided by DJ John from the Strand from noon to 3 p.m. and the Legends Oldies Band from 4 to 7 p.m. Food trucks and vendors: His Kingdom Coffee, Wicked Foods, Dantes Inferno by Alta, La Casita, the Greek Shack, Woods Ice Cream, All Saints Parish (Pierogies and Haluski); craft vendors, face painting, bounce house. • July 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moyers Campground, Hobbie. (Rain or Shine): Dash plaques for the first fifty cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at the campground. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome. Complementary swimming privileges for all Cruisers. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish. • Aug. 6 (Rain date Thursday Aug. 7) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Hill Senior Living Community, 800 6th St., Weatherly: Dash plaques for the first 40 cars; food and drinks available. • Aug. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Leiby’s Ice Cream House, Tamaqua (rain or shine): Dash plaques for the first 50 cars; cruising music and door prizes. Food available at Leiby’s. • The Anthracite Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will hold its 39th annual Car Show on Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tri-County Little League Field, corner of Grove and Hancock St., McAdoo. Rain or Shine. There will be a Special Participation Award to the first 150 registered vehicles as well as Special Awards to “Best of Show Stock” and “Best of Show Modified.” Dash Plaques will be given to the first 200 registered vehicles (Preregistration taken until Sept. 6) and Special Awards will be given to all AACA Senior and First Junior automobiles (must be registered by Aug. 30 to receive AACA Senior/Junior awards). Gates open at 8 a.m. and day of show registration will continue until noon. Awards will begin at 2:30. The show is open to all antiques, classics, street rods, rat rods, modifieds, trucks, customs, motorcycles, and muscle cars.

The Tri-County Little League will have food and beverages available. The venue features plenty of shade, a spacious show car area, and a playground for the kids. Spectators are encouraged to stop by, look over the machines of yesteryear, and take a trip back into the past. This year’s show will be a “No Judging Show. Participants are encouraged to come out and show your cars to help promote the hobby. As a special treat, this year’s show will feature live music by the Legends Oldies Band.

The current slate of officers of the Anthracite Region AACA for 2025 is Joe Forish, president; Jim Rogers and Mike Havrilla, co-vice presidents; Steve Sheer, secretary, and Dave Bielen, treasurer.
