Northern Carbon ballot
In the seven municipalities in northern Carbon County, no Primary Election contests exist this time around.
Balloting will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20.
Below is a look at what voters in the seven municipalities of Northern Carbon County will see on their ballots:
Banks Township
• Supervisor, six-year term, elect 1 – William J. Nice, Democrat.
• Tax collector, four-year term, elect 1 – Antoinette Tawnie Porpiglia, Democrat.
• Auditor, six-year term, elect 1 – no candidates.

Lausanne Township
• Supervisor, six-year term, elect 1 – Edward Klynowsky, Republican.

Judge of elections, East District, four-year term, elect 1 – Barbara J. Cunnius, Democrat.

Hazleton School Board
Seven candidates have cross-filed to seek both the Democratic and Republican nominations.
They are Ed Shemansky, Jared M. O’Donnell, Carmella Yenkevich, Matthew G. Nause, Jeffrey Kubitz, Patricia Tomsho and Wister Yuhas Jr.
Weatherly School Board
Voters in Lausanne, Lehigh and Packer townships, East Side and Weatherly boroughs and Kidder Township’s North District comprise voting for the Weatherly Area School District board. There is a shortage of candidates this time around. Four four-year and one two-year terms will be filled this year.
Barbara Sipler and Ryan P. Binder are cross-filed on both tickets for the four-year terms, while Nancy Mulvaney is a Republican candidate.
No one filed a petition to seek the two-year term.
