Voters in East Penn, Franklin and Mahoning townships and Lehighton, Parryville and Weissport boroughs will participate in balloting for positions on the Lehighton Area School District board. There are five spots set to be filled this year, including four four-year terms and one two-year term, and there is competition in the Primary Election for both terms.
Eight people are seeking both Democratic and Republican nominations for the four four-year terms. They are Kirk Henritzy, Duane A. Dellecker, Alex Matika, Lory A. Frey, Kasara B. Weinrich, Joy Beers, Denise Hartley and Timothy M. Tkach.
