Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim Leskowich will deliver a message about families and children during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown, as the church will be having a baptism and celebration of life during the service. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. The theme of the day will be “Jesus Loves Me.”
The 6:30 p.m. Sunday group gathering will feature gospel singing. The Wednesday prayer and share is at 7 p.m.
Calvary Evangelical’s new phone number is 272-405-1617. All are welcome to worship at Calvary.
St. Peter’s West Penn
The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn is at 9 a.m. followed by Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. and Girl Scouts at 6 p.m.
The church board meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday. On May 22, the Cherub and Handbell choir rehearse at 6 p.m. The Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m.
Zion — Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior citizens met on May 14 with 37 members present.
President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “Fortitude.”
Two members were added to the sick list.
The group chanced off a floral arrangement that was won by a member. The May 14 trip to Mohegan Sun Casino was canceled.
Four members are celebrating birthdays in May. Refreshments were served and the meeting closed. Bingo was played.
The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. May 27 at Christ Church in Barnesville.
Trail cleanup
Help is needed for a Schuylkill River Trail cleanup on May 17. Volunteers will meet at the Auburn Trailhead on Route 895 at 9:30 a.m. and drive to the starting area at 10 a.m.
The Schuylkill County Conservancy will be doing its spring cleanup of the Bartram Trail section of the Schuylkill River Trail on a 1.2 mile section of the trail between Stony Creek and the new trail bridge crossing the Schuylkill River near Auburn.
Bring water and snacks. Work gloves, bow saws and loppers are also needed.
