Star Wars characters visit LVH patients for 4th

In advance of “May the Fourth,” characters from a galaxy far, far away made stops at the children’s hospital and other patient areas at LVH-Cedar Crest. They also visited LVH-Muhlenberg.

Local Star Wars fan groups Kyber Base and Garrison Carida partnered with Sodexo Food Services.

About 30 costumed actors brought smiles to the patients and families cared for by Lehigh Valley Health Network, part of Jefferson Health.

Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Temple Guards and Fiera were among the characters making rounds.

Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, the third-busiest children’s hospital in Pennsylvania, offers comprehensive care for children in the region, including access to the most pediatric specialties, two children’s ExpressCARE locations and a Children’s ER.

The hospital also offers child life specialists, who help children cope with being sick by offering opportunities for stress relief and relaxation as well as distractions to make procedures easier.
