6th Wine on the River set in Lehighton

The Lehighton Downtown Initiative will host the sixth annual Wine on the River from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Baer Memorial Park in Lehighton. The event is open to those age 21 and over.

Fifteen wineries will be in attendance from all over Eastern Pennsylvania, along with food trucks, crafters and vendors.

The event will be comprised of sampling a variety of wines, shopping, listening to live music and more.

Those who attend are urged to bring their own lawn chairs, drink, eat and listen to the music.

All tickets come with a complimentary wineglass for taste testing, along with their own custom wine check.

A new stage will be added this year with the following live music:

• The Left Edge, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Damian Walck, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

• Rock Villains, 4-6 p.m.

There will also be plenty of food trucks available for lunch, dinner and in between. No outside food or beverages are allowed.

“Our small businesses need your help by patronizing them with everything from charcuterie type foods to full meals,” said Bambi Elsasser, community operations director, LDI. “With over 30 crafters and vendors you will be sure to find that lovely trinket to take home with you.”

Elsasser said that all advance ticket sales will be entered to win a basket of wine, one from each of the 15 wineries.

Elsasser thanked the event’s sponsors: Home Comfort Solutions, PenTeleData, Bronson EBikes, Iron Valley Real Estate NE, Bennett Family Properties, Blue Ridge, Don’s Golf Carts, Moyer Advertising, TNT Real Estate, Community Bank, Jim Thorpe Trolley, Mauch Chunk Trust Company, RJ Walker, Lehighton Orioles Nest 183, All Points Towing, TNT Auto, George’s Sewer and Drain, The Flower Tent, Yvettes Property Management, Key Bank, LE Williams Printing, Styling Zone, and Dream Team Destinations.

“Come out and spend the day,” she said. “With a huge variety of food trucks and sweets there will be something for everyone.”

Elsasser also urged visitors to shop and visit the vendors in between their tastings.

She said those who don’t want to carry their purchases may check them with their unique wine check operation.

Elsasser added that proceeds from Wine on the River will help with multiple revitalization and beautification projects throughout Lehighton.
