Police: Woman resisted arrest in Tamaqua domestic dispute

Tamaqua police charged an Allentown woman with resisting arrest, simple assault and harassment after she fought with a man just after midnight April 28 at their apartment on the 200 block of West Broad Street.

Police said the woman, Teenia Gonzalez-Sanabria, 25, Allentown, was sent to prison on $5,000 percentage bail.

According to police, officers were called to the apartment for a domestic dispute, and spoke to the victim, who had a small laceration on the left side of his nose.

He declined medical treatment and said that he and his girlfriend, Gonzalez, had a verbal argument and he tried to leave.

The man told police that Gonzalez attempted to stop him, and witnesses said Gonzalez attacked and struck him.

Police told Gonzalez that she would be charged with harassment and placed her in the police cruiser until more information could be gathered.

Police said they asked Gonzalez for her cellphone, but she refused and physically resisted. After the struggle, she was placed in handcuffs.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.
