Lansford Borough Council action on the following at its April meeting:

• Eliminated the May dates for free community yard sales due to a conflict with spring cleanup dates. No replacement dates will be scheduled. Current free yard sale dates are June 14 and 15, and Aug. 2 and 3, and rain dates are the following weekends.

• Getting quotes for an alarm system at the Ashton Park concession stand.

• Updating the oversize parking ordinance to keep vehicles along Dock Street year round and restrict permits to only borough residents. Solicitor Bob Yurchak will work on changes.

• Tabled handicapped parking requests for 335 W. Water St, 231 W. Bertsch St. and 513 E. Ridge St.

• Approved sending a letter supporting the Coaldale-Lansford-Summit Hill Sewer Authority for a grant application for improvements to the sewer plant under the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Grant Program for a mechanical bar screen system improvement project, as long as there is no cost to residents.

• Will send a letter to Coaldale Borough to schedule an informal meeting to discuss the possibility of merging the streets departments.
