Concourse names 25th Guiding Stars recipients
As the Concourse Club of Palmerton celebrates its 25th Guiding Star Anniversary, the organizations announce its 2024-2025 Guiding Stars of Palmerton Area High School. These young women were recognized at the March 6 meeting of the Concourse Club at St. John’s Church in Palmerton.
Each senior is in the top 25% of academic ranking, has demonstrated leadership qualities in extracurricular school activities, and participates in community programs and events. These high achievers were awarded a certificate, a check, and an engraved star charm.
The evening began with a Guiding Star Archives report presented by Alexandrea Delich Spalding, who was among the first 142 young women to receive this award since 2001.
This year recipients are:
Adriana Fugazzotto
Adriana is the daughter of Heather and Jacob Fugazzotto. She has a twin sister, Emma.
Her hobbies are fishing, hunting for fossils, singing, dancing and writing poetry.
School activities include: Drama Club, Chorus, National Honor Society, Leo Club, Environmental Club, Games Club, Book Club, FBLA, and Student Council.
Adriana volunteers in the community serving on the altar guild and serving as an acolyte at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Adriana’s future educational plan is to study biomedical engineering.
Macy Elizabeth DiDario
Macy is the daughter of Edward and Kerri DiDario. Her siblings are Madison and Landon.
Macy’s hobbies are reading, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and working out.
School activities include being the president and founder of the Book Club, treasurer of the National Honor Society, vice-president of the Leo Club, a member of Aevidum, Student Council, International Traveler’s Club, Environmental Club, FBLA, and PAAC.
Her community activities are volunteering alongside a volunteer with EPDSC.
Macy plans to attend Lafayette University to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Cassandra Rose Hager
Cassandra is the daughter of Melissa and Jeffrey Hager. Her siblings are Bailey, Bobby and Tyler Hager.
Cassandra’s hobbies are dancing, reading, on-line shopping, and going on walks.
Her school activities include being the 2025 class president, and a member of the National Honor Society, FBLA, Leo Club, Aevidum, Environmental Club, International Travelers Club, Social Media Club, Student Council, Buddies Club, the Avenger staff, Yearbook Club, Scholastic Scrimmage team, SADD, PAAC, and Video Club.
Her community activities include dancing competitively at Dancing with Kim, writing for the Times News, working as a summer camp counselor for the Summer Recreation Program, and volunteering at community events.
Cassandra’s future educational plan is to attend a four-year university majoring in journalism.
Emma Angelina Fugazzotto
Emma is the daughter of Heather and Jacob Fugazzotto. She has a twin sister, Adriana.
Emma’s hobbies are drawing, playing drum kit, crocheting, ballet dancing, tap dancing and reading.
School activities include being president of the Stage Crew, a member of Student Council, the Leo Club, the Environmental Club, FBLA, the Book Club, and the National Honor Society.
She participates in community activities as a member of St. John’s Lutheran’s altar guild, working at the church’s Community Festival stand, and serving as a tutor at S.S. Palmer.
Emma’s future educational plan is to attend either DeSales University or the University of Scranton majoring in nursing.
Ella Katherine Baumgardt
Ella is the daughter of Jenna and Matthew Baumgardt. Her siblings are Eric and Emily Baumgardt.
Her hobbies include hiking, reading, playing pickleball, spending time with pets, and photography.
Ella’s school activities are being a Class of 2025 officer, playing on the soccer and basketball teams, and being a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, FBLA, Leo Club, Social Media Club, and the Environmental Club.
Ella’s community service activities include helping with the Keystone Miller Blood Drive, Run for Down Syndrome, Raising the House 5K, the Bo Tkach Turkey Trot, Mini-Thon, DNL Trail cleanup, and the Palmerton Community Festival.
She plans to attend Rider University majoring in health sciences.
