Northern Lehigh School Board recently approved the following curriculum and instruction matters:

• Special Education Plan beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2027.

• Agreement between the district and Lehigh Learning Academy for the purpose of furnishing regular education or special education programs for the students for the 2024-25 school year.

• Service contract between the district and the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 to provide one-on-one teacher services for the 2024-25 school year, at a cost not to exceed $57,550.

• Amendment to the PA-ETEP Agreement to include services from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, at a total cost of $28,013.

• Amendment to the COMPLY Agreement to include services from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, at a total cost of $28,013.

• Amendment to the COMPLY Agreement to include services from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027 at a total cost of $15,599.

• A one-year student license with Ori Learning for social emotional learning curriculum at a cost of $1,502 for the 2024-25 school year.

• Renewal of Character Strong for Middle School SEL Lessons at a cost of $1,499 for the 2024-25 school year to be funded through the middle school building budget.

• Superintendent and middle school principal to execute a letter of agreement for the 2024-25 academic year with the Center for Humanistic Change Inc. to provide Student Assistance Program Liaison services. The Student Assistance Teams in the school district will use these services.

• Affiliation agreement with Pediatric Therapeutic Services to allow contracted service workers to host interns in the school district. The term of the agreement is from Aug. 13, 2024, through Aug. 12, 2029.

• Memorandum of Understanding beginning in the 2024-25 school year with Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley to promote prevention programming in Northern Lehigh Middle School and respond appropriately to students who have been victimized.

• Affiliation agreement with University of Phoenix for an educator preparation program. The agreement allows per-service teachers and administrators to complete practicum hours needed for graduation. The term of the agreement is from Aug. 13, 2024, through Aug. 12, 2029.

• Affiliation agreement with Misericordia University for an educator preparation program. The agreement allows pre-service teachers to complete practicum hours needed for graduation. The term of the agreement is from Aug. 13, 2024, through Aug. 12, 2029.

• Kristie Borger, helping teacher, for Madeline Henderson, inductee, $200; Tammy Fristick, helping teacher, for Kimberly Phillips, inductee, $200; Amanda Bashore, helping teacher, for Josephine Flugger, inductee, $800; Allyson DeHart, helping teacher, for Jessica Jackovitz, inductee, $800; Jenn Butz, helping teacher, for Kathleen O’Donnell (year one and two), $800 per year; Manuel Gonzalez, helping teacher, for Mary Beth Armitage, inductee, $200; and Nick Sander, helping teacher, for Caitlyn Wilder, inductee (year one and two), $800 per year.
