In less than a month, Lower Towamensing Township will be oil and chipping several road.
Roni Sue Ahner, the township secretary, told the supervisors about the upcoming in a report from the Roads Department during their meeting last week.
The township is planning to begin applying oil and chips on Aug. 1 and 2 on Stoney Ridge and Club roads, Walnut and Maple drives, and a section of Spruce Road.
Also regarding roadwork, the supervisors approved advertising for bids for line painting.
Ahner said the township plans to advertise in July for the bids, with a contract being awarded in August. Work would begin in September. The painting will be for all township roads.
It was also announced that the township’s Planning Commission will have a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday to review items for zoning that either need an amendment or are not currently listed in the ordinances.
Ahner said some of these topics include campgrounds, warehouses and distribution centers, trucking terminals, condominiums, food trucks, and marijuana facilities.
The commission’s regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. on July 11.
