NL School Board - financial matters
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following financial matters on Monday:
• Insurance coverage for the 2024-2025 school year to Commercial Package and Automobile (vehicle liability, law enforcement liability, general liability property insurance, and boiler and machinery); Graphic Arts Mutual (Utica) Insurance Co., $110,365, an increase of $12,274 over last year’s rate; Commercial Automobile - Graphic Arts Mutual (Utica) Insurance Co., $14,986, an increase of $707 over last year; School Leaders Directors and Omissions Liability - American International Group Inc., $30,750, no change in cost; Commercial Umbrella Liability Insurance - Republic Franklin Insurance (Utica), $25,014, an increase of $1,864; and Cyber Security Liability - Chubb (ACE American), $14,100, a decrease in the amount of $611.
• Neffs National Bank, TD Wealth, Pennsylvania School District Liquid Asset Fund, Prudential-Bache Government Securities Trust, and Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust, as approved depositories for school district funds and/or temporary investments.
• To commit and/or assign portions of the June 30 fund balance for PSERS increase, health insurance premiums, technology, curriculum purchases, replacement equipment, long range maintenance, and debt service payments (actual amounts to be determined after completion of the 2023-2024 end of year audit).
• Renewed a $50,000 board secretary bond for the term of July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025 at an annual premium of $175; a $50,000 board treasurer bond for the period of July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025 at an annual premium cost of $269.
• School District’s Insurance Consortium as the district’s Workers’ Compensation carrier for the 2024-2025 school year at an estimated premium of $117,515, an increase of about $31,683. This amount is an estimated total, as the final cost is based on actual payroll figures.
• Willis Towers Watson as the district insurance broker for property, casualty, and liability insurance for the 2024-2025 school year.
• Dr. Nicole Sully and Dr. Amy Gourniak of Parkland Family Health Center as school physicians for the 2024-2025 school year at the quoted fee of $2 per dental exam needed.
• Renewal of PNC Benefit Plus as the Flexible Spending Account Administrator for medical and dependent care expenses, effective July 1, at a cost of $3.50 per month per participant for a single plan, and $3.95 per month per participant for both plans.
