State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• Kiwanda M. Moore, 33, and Roy Moore, 42, both of Sheppton, are facing misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty after police responded to an incident at 4:51 p.m. June 4 on West Pine Street in East Union Township.

Police said after receiving the complaint, they searched the backyard of the residence and found a 3-year-old Siberian huskie, “Ace,” with inadequate potable water and shelter and multiple neck injuries from a makeshift 12-inch chain used as a collar on the dog.

Police said the dog was seized and is being cared for by the Animal Resource Center, Millville.

• Police are investigating the theft of $90 worth of lottery tickets from a business on Center Street, East Union Township.

They were called there at 9:08 p.m. June 4, saying the victim reported the theft from the store happened two days prior.

• Ethan Kennedy, 39, of Harrisburg, was charged by police with assault/bodily injury after they were called to a property on Virginia Avenue, West Mahanoy Township, at 2:55 p.m. June 5.

They said it is alleged he punched the victim in the mouth.

Kennedy was arraigned and released on $25,000 bail.

• Police were called to a burglary that happened between May 21 and 6:37 p.m. June 5 on Center Street in East Union Township.

The victim, a 52-year-old woman from Hazle Township, reported someone cut the lock on a storage shed on the property. They said nothing was found to be missing.

• Police were called to investigate a corruption of minors report at 2:47 p.m. May 10 on Washington Street in Middleport.

They said the incident was referred to them through the ChildLine network and involves a 7-year-old boy from Middleport.

• A 73-year-old Girardville man was cited for a dog law violation after police were called to an incident at 4:17 p.m. June 8 on Railroad Street in Girardville.

A 33-year-old man from Girardville reported the incident.

•Police were summoned to the 100 block of Kimber Street, New Philadelphia, for a missing-person report at 6:33 p.m. June 9 involving a 15-year-old boy.

They said the boy’s mother reported he left the residence at 5:30 that morning and has not been seen.

He is described as being 5-5, about 120 pounds, with blonde or strawberry hair and brown eyes. He was wearing gray sweatpants and black Under Armor slides.

• Shawn Murphy, 45, of Lansford, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 6:37 p.m. June 8.

He was stopped in a 2010 Kia Sportage for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at 35 Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown).
