PSP Frackville - incidents

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

* Seth Valentine, 44, of Tamaqua, was cited for retail theft/shoplifting after police were called to the Turkey Hill store at 205 Claremont Avenue in Hometown, Rush Township, at 12:25 a.m. May 18.

Police said he was caught trying to steal $54.23 worth of various food and beverage retail items.

* Police are investigating the theft of a gray and silver 2017 Carry-On trailer from a property on Elm Avenue, Ryan Township. A 68-year-old man from Barnesville reported the incident at 1:05 p.m. June 3. He told police the trailer was stolen from his driveway.

• Police are investigating a theft that was reported at 8:53 p.m. May 25 at a business on Plaza Drive, Rush Township. The victim is a 45-year-old man from Barnesville.

He told police he attempted to get $100 cash back from a self-checkout machine and said the machine did not immediately provide the money. He said when he walked away to get an employee to assist him, it was determined via video surveillance the money was taken by a woman who then exited the store.

* Police were summoned to a property on North Center Street in Ringtown to assist personnel from the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office at 2:23 p.m. May 23.

They said during the visit multiple drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered, resulting in charges to be filed.

• A 55-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man from Barnesville were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic incident at 9:29 p.m. May 27 at a property on State Road in Ryan Township.

Police said they engaged in an argument that turned physical when the man threw water on the woman and grabbed her by the hair. They said the woman then grabbed the man by the arm.

Police said the argument involved the woman smoking in the residence.

• Police are investigating the theft of copper wire from a property on Valley Street in Cass Township. It was reported at noon June 3.

Police said a suspicious vehicle was on scene before it was discover the suspects cut numerous copper cables from the property.

• Carl Mazur, 36, of Weatherly, is facing aggravated assault charges after an incident police were called to at 7:49 a.m. June 2 on Fairview Street in Rush Township.

Police said it is alleged Mazur was driving a 2023 Can-Am ATV aggressively in a parking lot. When confronted by the owner of the business, he allegedly turned around in the lot and proceeded to accelerate directly at the victims, a 58-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Tamaqua

• Logan Forrest, 18, of Shenandoah, was charged with harassment by physical contact after an incident at 5:17 p.m. June 1 on North Gilbert Street in Shenandoah.

The victim is a 17-year-old girl from Shenandoah. Police said the two became involved in a physical altercation over a missing marijuana pipe.

• Victoria Winslow, 29, of Lansford, was cited for retail theft/shoplifting after police were called to the Walmart on Plaza Drive, Rush Township, at 7:42 a.m. June 2.

Police said she failed to scan numerous items valued at $134 at a self-checkout computer.

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident in which wind turbines owned by Avangrid Wind Farm, Union Township, were damaged by gunfire.

They were called at 12:07 p.m. May 29 to the property on Ringtown Boulevard and determined someone trespassed onto the property sometime over the past month and fired the shots into the turbine. Police said similar incidents have previously been reported to them.
